Club Runs

cyclist

Our club rides take place as often as possible throughout the year from locations around Manchester and the surrounding area. We use tracks, trails and quiet country lanes wherever possible. Rides are usually around 10 to 40 miles and are either easy paced (less than 12 mph) or medium paced (12 to 15 mph). A stop at a pub or cafe for lunch is usually included and we make sure that no one is left behind. Inbetween club runs we take out family rides which are shorter and slower.

These are not training rides!

They are for enjoying the countryside in good company. Generally, the pace is that of the slowest rider however, we have radio comunication between the ride leader and the ride back marker. Arriving by car with your bike at the start point is perfectly acceptable. Members often live some distance away or do not want to cycle more than the ride in poor weather. Of course no one is obliged to complete the whole ride and members will sometimes drop in or out along the route.

Potential members are very welcome to ride with us a few times before making a decision to join the Club. If you would like to do this then could you please contact us first .

If you are new to club cycling, or are a slower rider, try our Family Rides which are an easy paced 4 to 8 miles on every other Saturday. They are an excellent introduction to club riding.

Please note that we cannot accept riders under the age of 16 on our club runs unless they are accompanied by a responsible adult and wear a helmet.

All our rides are listed below and are subject to change without notice.
